The city of Elche is proud to be able to welcome the World Veteran Table Tennis Championships, which have been organised jointly with the city of Alicante and will be held in May in the superb facilities of the IFA (Institución Ferial Alicantina). For the inhabitants of Elche, hosting an event for this organisation is a great responsibility, but also an opportunity to experience each and every one of the exciting aspects of this type of important sporting event.
I would like to wish each and every one of the participants, their companions and all those who decide to visit us on the occasion of these Championships, a wonderful and enjoyable stay here. A Mediterranean city and the birthplace of Iberian culture, Elche not only offers you its hospitality during these days in May, but also the opportunity to enjoy its many charms and attractions. Our invaluable historical and cultural heritage, which includes the Palm Grove and the Elche Mystery Play, both of which have been awarded world heritage status by UNESCO, accompanied with our delicious cuisine, beaches and landscapes of great ecological value, these qualities render this city the perfect place in which to share every moment of this sporting event.
